Frank7's take on the show: Phil's Place in Citrus Heights is very interesting. It's just opened a short while ago I understand. When we first got there and I saw the "stage" area I thought... "@%#!... this is going to suck." You see, the stage is right in the middle of the club - and it's a smaller club at that. Not only is it in the middle - It's all hard-wood. I thought we'd have a hell of a time getting a mix. Well... I was wrong. One of our favorite bands - Who's Anthony - was playing first. Once they took the stage and started playing I was quite pleased - It sounded great! I think a lot of that had to do with our sound-man - the "Amazing One". Phil's has a nice bar and a kitchen that stayed opened till about 9:30pm for us. The bartender was new and struggled a bit on the unusual drinks (and on some of the usuals too), but made up for it in freebee's. A crowd of regulars filtered in by 10:30 or so making it a really fun place to play. We're looking forward to going back soon!

July 5th@ The Curve in San Francisco, CA  747 Third Street @ Townsend (415) 896-2286

Star's take: July 5th was Judge Unger's first San Francisco gig and it was one of the best shows ever.  The JU Fans that were in attendance got an earful of female expression.  This was Judge Unger's first Girlzzrock Showcase and definitely won’t be their last.  Star plans to get very involved with this new coalition that includes women musicians, singers, songwriters, and other women that make music a big part of their lives.  Groovy Judy opened the show and grooved us all into rockin’ mood.   Judge Unger hit the stage next.  And just like the song with the same title… Judge Unger rocked it hard.  closed out with animated lyrics as well as her stage show that left an impression none of us will forget.  All thanks goes to Boudeekaand , co-founders of Girlzzrock. Judge Unger Fans should keep their ears and eyes open for more of the Girlzzrock Showcases.  Upcoming shows will include more of , (Northern Cali's. Biggest), and of course...

Judge Unger will play the 4th of July in American Canyon. To get to the park take Rio Del Mar (that's the road off of highway 29 at the 7/11) all the way to the end. We will be playing around 4pm. The fun starts around noon. There will be many booths....wine, beer, arts, crafts, fun for the kids....etc Call the JU HotLine for more details.

The Inspector's take: Although I think Star and Frank would disagree (because of the technical difficulties in this gig), I thought the 4th show in American Canyon was awesome. It was a beautiful sunny day. Patriotism was running high. The stage set up was kool (lot's of room needed for the big man!) The monitor system on stage left a little to be desired, but everyone said we sounded great. Go figure...
